Energy & Then
Some
MPI Technologies incorporates
and develops process capabilities that work in concert to provide
maximum “one stop” service at cost-effective prices.
Three (3) unique wide-web coaters
(up to 82” cross-web) equipped with UV & EB curing
units utilize proprietary technologies. We use environmentally
friendly,
100% solid only solvent-free coatings and adhesives. The
coaters convert materials from 25 gauge to 40 Mil.
Our coaters instantly cure
coatings without the addition of heat, making them ideal
for thermally sensitive substrates. Energy curing
provides greater dimensional stability, durability, and
aesthetically superior coated products.
MPI
laminates paper and film on converting machines up to 82” wide, achieving
excellent lay-flat and better bond strengths. |

Each coater and laminator is fitted with
one or more corona treaters that enhance adhesion of coatings,
adhesives and inks to the substrates.
Cross-Linking Magic
Cross-linking breaks a films molecular bonds; the molecules
then rearrange themselves into longer chains that increase
strength, heat resistance, flow characteristics, and dielectric
properties. Substrates are altered to enhance performance in
specific applications for which they might not otherwise qualify.
Cross-linking also adds dimensional stability as well as improved
tensile and shrinkage specifications.

Instantaneous curing without heat results
in dimensionally stabile laminations; induced stress and variation
in the final product are greatly reduced. Multi-layer laminations
and corona treatment are available.
MPI Technologies cut its manufacturing teeth on heavy aluminum deposition
on a wide range of thin films (PET, PP, LDPE, HDPE), fabrics, and non-wovens.
The vacuum deposition process is the first crucial step in the manufacture
of high-performance Super-Insulations for the cryogenic, aerospace, construction,
and medical markets.
Several of our metallized films go on to the Crinkler™ room where air spacers
are incorporated to improve stand-off in multi-layer constructions |
